Or does someone know of a Windows app that makes this type of photo renaming easy? We would pay to have a nice Powershell setup that would do this photo renaming. But I have no clue how to use Powershell. For years, I have used Irfanview and a couple other softwares like Fotor to do this, but it's time consuming and surely there's a better way. I think it would be fascinating to use Powershell to blaze through the folder of thousands of photos and rename as needed, preserving the inventory ID part of the file name and renaming/adding the underscore and number as needed. So using the above example again, those photos would need to be renamed to 400110_1.jpg and 400110_2.jpg and 400110_3.jpg. Our internal software can batch update photos, but it requires a naming convention that uses underscore and number. There are often 3 or 4 photos for the same item.

The photos are named with the inventory ID + short description + extension, something like 400110 front.jpg and 400110 side.jpg and 400110 case.jpg (with 400110 being the SKU).

The photos are updated numerous times each year. Our business gets several thousand photos of inventory items from our primary supplier.
